Is it okay to use gasoline that has been prepared for use in 2 cycle engines
in a 4 cycle engine?

Why not?

4-cycle engines are designed to burn gasoline, not oil.
Burning a gas-oil mix will be like running an engine with bad rings -- severe
oil smoke pollution and fouling of the spark plugs. If there is a catalytic
converter, it may be irreparably damaged.

I appreciate your answering my questions, sir... there's a great debate
raging at the Sears that I work for.
So, you're saying... that to use gas that has been mixed to lubricate 2 cycle
engines... would not be good for the 4 cycle engine, on my lawnmower... right?

No.
