Hello,
I was wandering how much I should pay a contractor to install 3 new
gas furnaces for my multi-family house? I already got an estimate of
$2000 for labor for installing each furnace, so $6000 in total for
labor only! Is this a realistic price? I live in Massachusetts....
Thank you to all who might want to share their knowledge about this
matter.
Vladimir.

Impossible to say without a lot more information. Get three or four more
estimates in order to get a good idea of the cost.

How many bids did you get, did you think about one unit zoned to 3

your job without looking at it. What brand and model unit are you
thinking of buying.

Ther is also no mention of what type of furnace. I am going to assume
hot water, and water systems cost more money for some reason.
Seems like around here, at least for air systems, a contractor
gets about double what the actual furnace costs. For $2200 you can get a new
efficient hot air system at about 70K BTU's, labor included.

I lived in Mass in one house that had steam heat. I don't know if steam
is still around.
