I've had a heat pump before, but never noticed this in our other
home.....
There is a tube that is coming out from under the house (it comes
through a hole they made in the foundation vrick and is cemented in)
Water dribbles out of this tube from some part of the heat pump
system...this water comes ot in enough volume to keep a portion of our
yard wet nearly all the time. This area doesn't have alot of grass (we
started with no grass of course after construction and we're making
progress) the soil is clay and the area is covered with greenish mold.
Any thoughts on how to address this? I'm not sure of what the tube
does or if I'm allowed to redirect it in some fsahion?

the humidity that the hp takes out of the air has to go someplace. you can
route it anywhere you want, but if you encourage the mold, you won't have to
plant grass :).

Put a small container on the ground - the water will evaporate faster

Its probably water that condensed out of the cooled air.

Couple a hose to it and direct the water wherever you wish.  Punch/drill
holes in the hose so it drips the water and spreads it over a wider
area.

Ooooo!!! I like that idea.....! Is it ok for the hose to be buried? I
ask as there are two dogs with quite a teething habit in this area ;)
It's very humid here, which I'm sure is one issue that makes this
problem more obvious then before I moved....!
