Instafi.com is defrauding 1000's of people in southern California.
I "locked in a low rate" with Instafi.com to refinance my home. We
went through the entire process of refinancing, we signed all the
papers with a notary, sent Instafi 4000$ of fees, escrow, and interest
payments. And then nothing happened. My wife and I very nicely called
them and left messages asking what was going on. We got no response.
After 45 days and about 30 phone calls, finally someone called us back
and said "It's been too long on your loan, we have to re-negogtiate a
rate" (with higher fees and more interest, and a point). This made me
very angry. I told them it was like a bait and switch operation and I
wanted my money back. Eight weeks later after many phone calls and
registered letters sent to them they finally gave us our money back.
I have done some checking and I have found many other people who have
had the same experience as me. These people are taking advantage of
people. Many people feel very stressed after all the time and trouble
to "just get on with it" and they go ahead and sign with more fees,
higher interest, etc. There was even an article in the LA Times about
the thousands of people this is happening to, and I've heard it
discussed on radio shows here. These people are crooks, and they are
especially targeting the elderly. An employee who I got to know in all
my calls to Instafi has told me they are doing this to 1000's of
people. They promise a very low rate up front and then wear you down
to get you to go for a higher rate with more fees.

Yikes, I hope you can prove this or that they can't trace you. You wouldn't
want to be on the wrong side of a libel suit.

In my area you can't turn on the radio or TV without some financing
company advertising a rate. Many of these companies are very new. When
interest rates ticked up a bit recently, many did exactly what the
poster had happen to him. They were taking deposits and locking in
rates hoping that rates might tick down and they would have an extra
kick on their side. When it went the opposite way they reneged on the
deals. Just think of them as car dealers because that's the mind set.
