So I'm moving into a dorm room next year, and in order to conserve
space, I was wondering if there would be a problem if I put my mini
fridge (a 3.2 cubic foot GE) in my closet. My parents keep telling me
that it would be a "problem", but they can't give me a specific
example of why it would be. Can anyone shed some light on this?

The fridge transfers heat from its interior to its exterior. If the
fridge is in a closet the heat will build up.

does the closet have a louvered front? you just need to dissipate the heat
produced.

You need air circulation. Keep the closet doors open.
