I have a garage door openen from the company "Overhead Door".  Just
started having a problem with it.  Once it opens up and close the
garage door, it seems to loose its power automatically.  The power is
sometime lost while in middle of its operation.  And it again gains
the power by itself.  The light on the wall switch goes off when the
power is lost.  Any solution?

thanks

Call Overhead Door.  They will send someone out and fix it up.
If what you have written is as far as you can go with it, then
you do need their help.  If it is an electrical problem or a
power supply issue in the opener, then this is potentially
dangerous, and you should not touch it yourself.  Call the
pros.

There is one thing you can check right off.  Most of these openers are just
plugged in with a regular plug somewhere, maybe in the attic.  The plug
might just be loose or something might be shorting between the prongs.  An
easy check, then call Overhead Door.

Sounds like the motor is overheating, and the automatic thermal switch is
activated.  The balance spring on the door may be weak, or the motor is too
small for the installation.

Yellow pages and a checkbook. There are Overhead Door brand dealers in
almost every city. It sounds like a loose or fried connection or
component up in the box in the ceiling, triggered by vibration. Having
them come look usually doesn't cost much. It may be trivial and you just
pay a trip fee, or you may need a new board, which I have no idea what
the going price is. If you feel adventurous, get a ladder, unplug the
thing, open it up, and look for anything loose or scorched.
