Greetings,
I have moved into my new house for about 3 months now. Every so often,
i lose power and then it will come back on after 2 minutes or so.
Might have to call the electrician to check it out. Isn't electrical
services still under warranty for a a new house? Any opinions on what
is going on? Thank you very much.

Check with your power utility first, to see if they're aware of service
interruptions. I can't really think of any scenario that would explain
repeated short power interruptions that resolve themseleves related to a
house wiring problem.

Is this new construction?  If so, it's typical for builders to
warranty everything for one year.  If there is construction going on
around you or near you, that could be the reason for outages if
they're putting in new lines.  You should find out the reason before
your warranty runs out, and if you suspect it's the wiring that's
defective, put your question in writing to the builder.  Don't keep it
all verbal because on the last day of your warranty they can say you
never told them if you don't have some kind of proof on paper that
they they knew about this during the warranty.

If this is NOT new construction and you're talking about one of those
home warranties that are often thrown in to sweeten the deal on a
resale home, be aware that they have many exclusions.  You may or may
not get a claim paid even if it appears to be covered.  On new
construction, a similar policy may be offered with the house but the
warranty co typically requires the builder cover the first year and it
seems you're still within that time.

You're right. It is a new house that i moved in about 4 months ago.
There is new home construction around me as other buyers are moving in
this new neighborhood. The thing is that the power comes back almost
immediately. Lately, it comes back overnight since when i wake up in
the morning, my alarm clock is flashing and messed up, so i have to
set the clock time again. That is how i noticed it lately.  I will
call builder to have their electrician come out. What if they say
everything is ok? How would i know they're not lying since i have no
clue about how electrical wiring works in home? Would i then have to
call my utility company? Thanks again.
