I am a first time home buyer and i am looking for an approximate
figure of the move in costs AFTER CLOSING.How much $$ should i have in
my pocket to cover things like blinds for windows,w&d, refrigerator
etc. Its a 2000 sqft home and i now that mileage may vary between
folks- but i am looking for an average figure on the most essential
things i need after a move in - just in case i am missing something
:)
Cheers

1. What's essential to you?

2. What did the house already have? (My house already had a refrigerator.)

3. Do you have beer or champagne tastes?

Thank you guys - I am not looking for an exact figure. I am looking
for the aggregate cost of the most essential things which are a must -
eg Blinds ,Refrigerator etc
I need to point out that this is a pre sale house - I need to do
things from scratch
I have a figure of 10K  - Maybe its a little on the higher side - Need
validation hence

Let's go with blinds. What kind? How large are the windows? Shutters can
cost over $1000 per opening. Plastic blinds will cost less than $100.
With $10K you can install $10K worth of stuff - none of it essential.
A cheap refrigerator can be had for $200 used. I might spend $10K, $100K,
or $1K for the same items that you think you need $10K for.
