OK. In the basement, I have a 24 inch space with a washer/dryer
hookup. I have searched and searched for honest reviews regarding
these ventless washer/dryer combos to no avail. Yes I am aware that
they take longer; but I would love it if anyone has any suggestions as
to what brand would be a "good" brand... dont need a lot of fancy
features, just something reliable.
Thanks!

I don't know much about the reliability of these machines, but they are
more complicated than regular washers and dryers which makes them more
repair prone. You might look at www.epinions.com for reviews of these
combo's. I think this LG model has the largest capacity of the compact
models:

Thanks for the advice... I went to best buy last night and the sales
rep told me that the machines were really popular, she said the biggest
complaint was the wash/dry time... I am doing a little more research,
I just want to make sure that if I get one, it wont break as soon as I
take it out of the box.

If you wouldn't mind...
Could you tell me if you have now purchased a ventless dryer (or
ventless washer/dryer combo) and, if so, can you share any details
about your likes/dislikes so far?
Or if you haven't purchased, perhaps you could share some of your
opinions related to your current research?
I too am interested in purchasing a ventless unit but so far I only
have some brands to choose from (i.e. LG, Bosch, Miele). I continue to
be wary simply because I'm unfamiliar with the technology I suppose..
I'm looking for some comforting words of experience! :-)
Thanks for any assistance.

Hey Steve,
I did purchase a washer and dryer, but it was a regular vented
stackable. The HD EXPO store was going to make me wait another month
(backordered) for the LG ventless, but I didnt feel like waiting, so I
got the 24 inch Neptune Stack washer/Dryer instead. I am kind of
wishing I would have waited cause now I have to bore a 4in hole in my
brick wall!. I will say that multiple sales reps from different chains
had good reviews about the LG series but you will have to take that
with a grain of salt ;-).
FYI
HD Expo store says that the LG units are quite popular. They were no
more in stock and order dates where more than 1 month away.
BestBuy stopped carrying them (LG) because they sell enough and people
complained of wash/dry time which can be 4+ hours. (people should know
this already)
I purchased Consumers Guide (online edition) and there is no rating
information on these ventless washer/dryer combos!
If I place on of these in my units, I will write back and let you know
how it goes! good luck! and thanks to everyone who helped out!!!
