I have a question concerning credit reports.
Can I pull a credit report myself and bring it to the lender - specially as
I pull it on a regular basis to check the data.
So I would save some money and also avoid an inquiry on my credit reports.

They will use it for a preliminary approval but will get their own.
How much do they want to charge you? The cost to lenders is tiny.
Inquiries caused by applications have little, if any effect and an inquiries
that result in a loan have no detrimental effect.

Hi Tommy,
I tried to find a way to run a report on my own, even went through
several friends who work at local banks... but none could give me any
truly free way to run my own credit report.
I caved and went to Equifax... $30 and I had it from all three report
angencies. Good thing too since I found a massive problem that
dropped my FICA score quite a bit.
HTH,
Alex.

I agree, Equifax also had errors on mine, including an r-9 ( can't get any
worse then that) all fixed up, with a big hassle and a ton of phone calls.

The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, signed into law on Dec.
4, 2003, gives every U.S. citizen the right to a free credit report
every year from each of the three major credit bureaus -- Equifax,
Experian and TransUnion. Many provisions in the new law won't take
effect for quite a while, but by 2005 everyone should be able to get one
free credit report per year from each of bureaus.
Until then, unless you live in the handful of states that offer free
credit reports you'll need to pay as much as $9 to get a copy of your
report. Unless you qualify under one of the special circumstances
(adverse action, unemployment / looking for job, identify theft...)
