I'm trying to get reviews for top loaders and not finding much or what
I like on line so far. Any good sources that are free on line? I
know Consumer Reports has a website but they want to charge for the
info. So far I'm considering whirlpool and maytag but I believe I
was told that whirlpool is better but not sure.
Anyone have a copy of a recent CR that has some ratings on top loading
washing machines? Which brand do they like?
What brands are considered reliable/durable nowadays ??
TIA

1) Visit web sites of likely brands you would consider. Find out what the
current models are and which ones have the features you are looking for.
Write down a few model numbers you are interested in of each brand.
2) Visit www.epinions.com to search by model number. If you're lucky, you
will find most of the models on your short list, so you can read reviews
about them. Epinions has a lot more information than CR, and the
information on Epinions is written by OWNERS, so it's less suspect than
advertiser-sponsored information on CR. -Dave
FWIW, I have a whirlpool washer/dryer set that is eight years old. It does
at least 4 loads a week, every week. No problems at all so far. -Dave

Name one company that has ever placed an advertisement in Consumer
Reports.

I'm waiting....

Still waiting....

.
The silence is deafening.....

So I guess there aren't any, then?
Thought so.

Bullshit. CR takes no money from companies that produce stuff they
review. None at all.
Who's to say that Epinions isn't flooded with company paid shrills?
It's well known that Microsoft pays people to watch newsgroups, web
boards, and such and post positive messages. I'm sure other companies
do too.

You say it is "well known" - well known by whom? Can you document
this, or is it just part of the global conspiracy?
"Everybody knows" is not a reasonable source.
