I bought an Aspire One and found it does not include a modem. Perhaps you
found a nice compact modem to go with yours. If you are pleased with it,
could you please tell me about it?
TIA

You bought an ultra-portable notebook computer to use with a landline based
Internet connection? Interesting.
Not telling you how to spend your money. Just saying I'd be SHOCKED if that
netbook did include a modem. -Dave

I got a Wintec Filemate USB Modem when I got my Aspire One:

I believe I paid less than $20, and it installed easily and worked fine.
It comes with a little retractable phone cord which I just leave in
my carrying case.
I don't have any complaints, but I do remember a few people stating the
retractable cord failed right off the bat, (I don't let it "snap" back
into the case which I suspect will help prolong its life). At Tiger
Direct a number of users state it won't go over 28.8, but I can't
remember what I connected it. I just got it because I wanted something
small in case there was no WIFI available, and I have not had to use it
yet other than my initial installation test.
