More motorcycles and scooters?  Not these hobbyist bikes like I ride, but
real efficient machines that get 40-60 MPG or even diesel bikes...  Would
LOVE to see a diesel bike for the consumer market...

Well, that's a bit overboard!

You've overlooked a huge problem that has developed in the Miami area.
The kids on the high powered motorcycles have learned that they can
easily outrun the cops.  Drive the Miami expressways at night and you
are sharing the road with multiple bikes going in excess of 110 mph, I
kid you not.

As bikes become more commonplace, and the difference in speeds between
cars and cycles causes more crashes, there will be a lot more innocent
people killed.  Add to this the news reports that the shipping
containers (containerized freight) coming from the ports are often
overweight and mis-loaded, and the trucks coming from the ports are
now tipping over when turning.  A truck driver trying to avoid a
high-speed motorcyclist becomes a potential multi-car pileup.

With dangers like this, SUVs won't be disappearing anytime soon.

What you've overlooked is that on an inflation adjusted basis, we still have
a long way to go before gas is more expensive than it was at the end of the
Carter administration, and that right now gas is still relatively cheap.

Even if ALL carbon emissions stopped today, the planet would still be in for
several centuries of warming and sea levels could still be expected to rise
around a foot.  The atmospheric concentration of so-called greenhouse gases
started rising around 8,000 years (no that's not a typo, eight thousand
years) ago.

There is no "fix" for global warming.  On the other hand, it could be slowed
down somewhat if you and your friends went all out and supported nuclear
power.

We dont know that yet.

Nothing like it.

And there were much bigger variations in global temps before that too.

And vastly greater variations in sea levels than a foot too.

We dont know that either.
