After used only less than a year, my KyLin TV box no longer works. I
am not sure if it was the problem of the remote control or the
yellowish receiver box itself. But the customer rep refused my
returning the whole package. He insisted sending me a “remote” to try
out first. By the way, although the remote replacement was “free”, the
UPS shipping S&H was $10 and I had to pay for it.
When I received the remote control 6 days later, (1) It was not sent
by UPS, but it was wrapped with UPS envelope outside, and the shipment
was actually done via USPS parcel service instead! (2) The new remote
still not making the box work so I had to send the whole box package
back for replacement again. (3) They did not agree to reimburse me the
missing days that I was not able to watch TV.
Although the customer rep were nice, I had really bad experience with
Kylin TV- their policy, their way of doing business, their management.

Seems like they have a niche there with Chinese channels. There can't
be much competition. Maybe they want to get the box back first to see
if you spilled a beer inside or experienced an overload. I suppose
they could just believe everybody at face value. Still, when they find
the defect, they may willingly adjust your service bill. Will you
please report back if successful?
Chinese electronics suppliers have a way of passing on surface mount
components with a low mean-time-between-failure. When these components
go into assemblies, they can fail at any time. I found them using heat
sensors from microwaves in brand named coffee pots. They failed the
test for temperature stress in microwaves so they must have felt they
would be OK in coffee pots. They put two sensors in series to be safe.
I bet every one in the store failed.
I won't be using their service.
