I'm an adult white male, educated and not unwashed or
threatening looking. But recently I walked in a Target and
decided at first to watch a kid play on the new PS3
video game, and a large black security guard made is clear
that he was watching me on three occassions as I was
standing there. I could describe what he did but frankly you
had to be there to understand. He took a special interest in
making sure I knew he was there and watching me.
I will never go to a Target again. They lost my business,
not just because of one heavyhanded, racist security guard,
not just because they raised prices recently, or because they
sold crap before that, but because on this and other occassions
I've just seen they take a "plantation" approach to customers,
treating them like peasants or using them for entertainment.
Screw Target. If I want to feel like my human rights are
being violated I'll take a vacation in Israel. They just a rude,
cowardly version of Walmart.

Geez! I should boycott my favorite store because one security guard out
of thousands who probably work for that chain got a little overzealous
in dealing with you? Get a grip!
If you really feel strongly, write a letter to Target's management and
carbon copy the store's local manager to tell them of the situation and
why you will not be returning to that store, but calling for a boycott
is a bit over the top, not to mention that 99.999999999999999% of people
who see your request won't care.

Prices are not the only determinant of frugality. Value is more
important than low prices. I get a good value (quality, selection, and
customer service) from Target, so that's why I shop there.

He probably thought you were overly interested in the children and not
the game. He may have been right for all we know.
