there is one error: in a thunderstorm you are supposed to squat with
feet together, NOT lie down. Ground currents from lightning can flow
through someone lying down, electrocuting them due to voltage
gradients in the ground. Squatting with feet together and keeping as
small of a "body footprint" as possible minimizes this risk.

Basically, lightening will go where it 'wants' to go.  Sailboat masts
are struck even when the boat doesn't have the tallest mast in the
marina.
