I've always considered myself somewhat frugal and when my last pair of
eyeglasses broke, I wrote a review of my experience ordering eyeglasses
online for a fraction of the price. The response was overwhelming.
To that end, I've shared my research and continue to add to it at
http://www.glassyeyes.com .
If you're in need of a new pair of glasses or a spare pair, online is a
viable option.
Live frugally!

In addition to the diopter ("strength" of your vision prescription) a
properly fit set of eyeglasses is centered over your pupils by the
optician. Can you reliably and accurately measure the distance
between your pupils when ordering online?
If so, how?
