I'm going on a trip to Mexico and found out that my cellphone will
charge me .99 per minute for calls, is there a calling card service
that I can use that will charge less? I don't mind calling from
landlines. Does onesuite work in Mexico?

Best bet would be to buy a phone card when you are there. Ask people
who work in. say, a hotel what a good card is. Kep in mind that, just
like in the US, if the hotel sells a card it will most likely be
overpriced and a stores idea of the "best" card may be the one with the
highest commission for the store.

I go to Mexico to get away from phones!! The last thing I want or
need to do is "chat" on a phone. While in Mexico...a phone is for
making reservations.
OneSuite will work in Mexico. Their rate starts at 2.5 cents a
minute plus any hotel surcharges...which can be outragous.....but you
alreay knew that.

Yeah, well I'm leaving work behind but also leaving two young clingy
children behind who are going to need to speak to Mommy at least once
a day.
I wonder if there are payphones I can use in the lobby of these hotels
to avoid the surcharge.

Wow, sounds like you really love and will miss your kids. Anyway, I
used OneSuite on my last trip to Mexico and there were no surcharges
unless of course you call from your hotel room. I stayed in a hostel
so I used their lobby's phone. There should be a lobby phone, just use
that and then punch in your OneSuite numbers. It seems i am a bit
behind on this thread but you might still be checking email during
your trip.
Tell us how it worked.
