We gave the kids all of their presents this morning - they were so
excited! Everybody got at least 3 or 4 items from their wish lists.
I'm glad that all of the holiday shopping is over, too. (just 11 days
long, instead of a whole month) My wife and I didn't give each other
anything today, but that was because we got ourselves a 1 week cruise
out of Puerto Rico Jan 8!
In case this seems strange to anybody, yes, we give gifts on St.
Nick's Day, (December 6) Jolly Old St. Nick's Day, Santa's Day, or
whatever you want to call it. Traditionally, gifts were exchanged on
this day. I like it because it lets Santa have his day, and also allows
our family to set aside Dec. 25 as a day for family and Jesus, with no
commercialism.
