My rental room is lined with ugly dark wood panels.    I've been
thinking of different ways to cover it up.    I would appreciate your
creative ideas.

simply paint, wallpaper or tear out the panels. :)

Curtains, vertical blinds and other such window treatments work on
walls just as well as they work on windows. I've known more than one
windowless office which featured fancy blinds with bright lights
behind them. Unless you opened the blinds, you couldn't tell they
weren't windows.

You are right.  Painting, tearing it down or wallpapering is not an
option for me.

Curtains is a good idea, except it would make the already crowded room
even more crowded.   I do have a few 2x3 styrofoam boards.  I've been
thinking of pasting wallpaper or fabrics to these boards and then stick
them to the wall one by one.  Has anybody tried this?

Yes, they did something similar in that nightclub that caught fire and killed
nearly everyone in it. It's probably not such a good idea.

Does this mean styrofoam is a fire hazard?   It would new to me...but
then I don't know everything.
