We went to the Super K-Mart (grocery and general merchandise) and bought
$200 worth of groceries and a few non food items like a quilt ($24, marked
down from $34) and some other sundries.  When we got to the car, my wife
discovered that they had charged us $34, instead of $24, for the quilt.
Also, I had bought a 6 pack of Tecate beer that was marked 5.99, along with
most of the other 6 pack premium beers.  It had a red tag on it that said
5.99.  But the receipt showed they charged us for 7.49.  So I went back
into the store and was sent to customer service where I had to wait 10
minutes in line.  Since it was their fault, an apology would have been nice
but no such luck.  Then he sends someone back to check on the beer price.
The person said the beer was indeed 7.49.  So after I got the refund for
the quilt I went back to the beer aisle, and most of the red markdown
stickers were gone.  So the  guy must have yanked them down after the price
check.  But it did say 5.99 before.  So I guess Kmart doesn't remove
markdown labels until people get overcharged.  I won't be going back to
Kmart.  Check your receipts closely, if you still shop there.

The last time I was in a K-Mart was four years ago. They refused to honor
a lifetime warranty on a $7 Bench Top hand tool. I'll never spend another
penny there.

What were the terms of the warranty? Many now say "do not return this
item to the store...for a replacement please return it postage prepaid
to Int'l Mega Imports, PO box 999 , Somewhere, US"

WTF? How is it K-Mart's responsibility to honor the terms of a
manufacturer's warranty? You should have contacted the manufacturer.

Bench Top is K-Mart's brand, like Craftsman is to Sears. The lifetime
warranty was almost identical, paraphrasing "If the tool breaks anytime,
return to K-Mart for replacement." I want to be careful to note, it did
not specify that a receipt was needed, nor did it specify that it had to
be returned to the same K-Mart where it was purchased. It was essentially
the same warranty as Craftsman.

Have you ever returned a Craftsman (not including electrical / air tools)
hand tool? Just walk in any Sears, go directly to the tool department, and
say the magic words "This tool failed to give satisfactory service." Then
walk out with a new one, or the closest thing they have to it, no
questions asked.
