Hi group..

Maybe somebody out there has the answer to my question.
I am going to Verizon mobile broadband for my work.
It has it's own unique phone number.
I'd like to be able to use this number with a phone as well.

The only info I can find is about using a cellphone as a mobile
broadband modem.  But, that is not an option for me.  I only have a
laptop card and I'd like to be able to use it for calls as well.

Any ideas?

Yes.  I've looked into Skype.  And it's a possibility.  But, if I'm
already paying for a mobile phone number, I'd like to not pay extra
money to make a call.

It's an interesting conundrum I'm in.  If I figure out a way to do it
I'll post it here.

What did Verizon have to say?

We have no power to alter Verizon if you don't get the answer you
want.

I have not asked Verizon.  I have not asked my IM department.
In large corporations, it's sometimes best to seek things out for
yourself before getting whole departments of wonks involved.

That's why I asked here.  Sometimes brilliance comes from unexpected places.

When I have the mobile broadband card up and running [should happen
tomorrow]I will then go to a Verizon store and pick their brains.

If I have a dedicated phone number for the card..then I should be able
to use that number for a phone..which I can then plug into my laptop.

Then I can use that number for both phone and internet.

But, I'm starting with a card [I have a business cell with a different
carrier] and therein lies the dilemma.
