I was going to give my old phone away, but I want to remove my number in
it's memory. how do you do that?
taking out the battery for awhile didn't. a Nokia 2126i

OK, it took some digging, but that appears to be CDMA technology, which is
used by providers like Verizon and (I believe) Sprint Nextel. If you want
to remove YOUR number from the phone, you will need the service provider to
do it for you. The number is stored in firmware that only the service
provider can modify. Well, there are other people who can do the mod for
you, but this will render the phone useless / can't be activated...and
therefore it wouldn't be worth giving away.
IMHO, trash it. -Dave

well, thanks for your input. I'll keep it as a back-up (9/11) or if I
lose the other 2126 I bought when I thought I lost this one.
