  I know Sewmaster has passed away, does anyone know about any of these
other posters? I know some may still be posting but I'm not on here
much.

I think all the spam has made it not worth wading through anymore.  I gather a
lot of people joined
groups like those on Yahoo where you have to log in.

 Guess I didn't post enough to make it on the list... and there's also Frugal
living on About which is my fave and maybe some on the list are there
too....
And seems Dennis and chickpea are still around posting.  Seems years since
Sewmaster passed.  I think Nick Pine, the solar energy guy posted here
sometimes.  I saved interesting posts on this newsgroup and have a bunch of
people but not sure if they were frequent visitors, like krh....

It's a real shame that usenet ain't what it once was.  Maillists are good, but
web fora suck badly.  I'm sorry to say that private yahoo groups work way better
than private google groups, which require you to go to the website to respond.

It's generally easy to recognize (and avoid) spam posts just from the subject
and sender -- I don't see why people worry about it, other than how it overloads
the newsservers.
