Joe, you are just a time wasting poster like a few others. But at
least you warned us in the subject line.

I'm a time wasting poster like a few others how? Are you saying the article
someone turned me onto which I thought was useful was a waste of time for
you? That I can understand.
My first and gut reaction was to check your other posts to see if you are
simply a troll, but it seems you posted legitimately at least on the
occasions I read... So I'd love to know why you would call *me* a time
waster rather than just refer to the article as a waste of time if that is
indeed what you meant...
...Been here for years and lurk mostly now and I've never been called a time
waster here (or anywhere else for that matter)... Intriguing. <G>

Because it's a four year old article that has been posted and
reposted to Google Groups before and a simple link would suffice
instead of the copyright violation paste job.

Four years old - point taken.
Posted and reposted - never read it before myself and I'm active (at
present) in 19 newsgroups. 12 of which are vehicle related.
Copyright violation - That's debatable. If the content is on a publicly
accessible HTML page and indexed by the search engines, then it is archived
in other places. Posting it to a public forum is simply spreading the info
around and a number of court cases have been thrown out when the "violator"
was able to prove the information was simply not contained in one place by
the owner any longer. I would never purposely undermine the cause of a
writer by stealing their info, but I think Edmunds probably benefits from
people reading their 4 year old article in other forums at this point rather
than it being unread and stale on their web site, etc.
This isn't misc.consumers.frugal-living.debate.forum so I'll stop there.
