Umm, because they offer low prices and convenient,
one-stop shopping?

Does it say that Wal-Mart _doesn't_ offer low prices
and convenient, one-stop shopping?

If you have an impulse to get up at 2am to buy some groceries, and say
shampoo, then Walmart does fit the bill. You get a ton of merchandise
made in China, and very poor customer service. You do get what you pay
for. When Walmart does pinch pennies on what it pays its staff, it
doesn't get the best in customer service at all. Walmart is all about
cutting costs now. The way of Sam is gone.
Yes, shopping is convenient. Where else can you buy a High Def TV and
a steak in the same store? That is convenient. It is also real
convenient to go into their DVD section and do dumpster diving to save
$2 on a DVD. Bobbing for videos. Who knows, maybe that Earnest goes
to Camp for $2 less is worth all the effort.

And if you shop at Wal-Mart, you either don't manage your time
correctly, or you can't afford to shop any place with better service.
You do get what you pay for.
As for why Wal-Mart is trying to bring in higher priced products, they
happen to want to make more profits. Retailers enter in the low end
and then eventually try to move up into more and more expensive items,
because the margins are better.
Speaking of service, anyone know any Wal-Marts where they are that
still have greeters? Nah, the greeters cost too much money, so they
got rid of them.
Yes, I had gone sometime and picked up stuff there. It was 2am and I
needed medicine. Also, couldn't find something at other stores, so I
checked them. Wal-Mart is the last choice for places to shop in my
view.

Amen. We'll look anywhere and everywhere else before looking there. In
particular, we shop at locally owned stores/shop when possible.

I have never shopped at Walmart, but was thinking about going there if
I ever feel depressed, to be greeted. Sad to hear that's no longer
possible. It's a bit depressing, really.

That's pathetic, on the same level as dialing 411 in order
to hear another human voice. If I ever get that way, I'll
suck off a shotgun.
