But walmart is big enough to make their own rules. In the states were I
usually travel the small stores are the ones that are most anal about
enforcing age regulations.

It's a way for Wal-Mart to collect our personal information. If this were a law
the State Run Liquor Stores would follow it too. Also my SO is a bartender so
we are up to day on the laws regarding alcohol in our state. Wal-Mart is doing
this in all states where I have shopped in Wal-Mart.

And, this is probably your answer. WalMart has to do it in some states
because of the state law, therefore they make one company wide policy
that covers them in the most restrictive states even though it isn't
necessary in all states. That's my guess. WalMart likes to keep everything
the same in all stores as much as possible.

Ok then tell me what state that Wal-Mart operates in requires this.
