Hi all,
I am assuming that they many ads wherein they say
you can filling out surveys online and get paid are
pretty much scams, probably to steal your personal
information or put you on a spam recipient list or
sell it to some nasty company like Checkpoint.
But am I right?
Thanks.

No, I get paid a few times a year for doing them. I like Pinecone
Research but have done other ones as well.

Most of them are to harvest emails and other ID info.
The "free XXX" are particularly nasty.

DH gets points--which he can eventually convert to stuff like small
appliances and other "gifts" for doing Harris Poll surveys. I think you have
to do a LOT of them, though.

Always...usually...most of the time they are scams.
Pinecone research pays $5 per survey and I collect two or three checks
per month, but as you can imagine, they have 100,000 more applicants
than they need. They only accept applications once or twice a year and
someone has to tip you off.
Anytime you hear that they are accepting applications, jump on it.
They are the real deal and pay real U.S. $$$$$.
