All week, it's our love-hate relationship with Wal-Mart at <a

Inquirer.</a>

Don't miss the poll on Wednesday, you've got to answer the burning
question: why is Wal-Mart amazing?

Not because it's cheap. Not because they've got everything under the
sun. There's something else. Tell us.

And until then, drop by to the best new magazine on the internet.
You'll be glad you did.

because they manage to run such massive stores with so few
employees?  i went in my local one this morning & ended up
leaving my frozen goods at the register.  I told the clerk
i'd had to wait so long, they were probably half-melted
and i wasn't going to buy them.  I'll stick to Super
Target (which actually hires people to run registers) for
those.

Last time I was at Wal-Mart I bought a couple of pounds of ground turkey
and when I got home I opened it, only to discover it was rancid.  So I
put it in the freezer.  The next day I took it out and went to the
customer dis-service counter to return it.  There must have been 25
people in line and only two clerks working.

I went back to the grocery counter and asked the meat department manager
if he could expedite the return.  He said couldn't do anything for me
and that I'd have to wait in line.

It wasn't worth an hour of my time to wait in line, so I went back to
the bedding and linen department, found a nice deep shelf to put it on
and left it there.
