I learned the hard way. I knew the amount due was going to be a lulu
this month, so I paid (online) in advance of the billing date AND lost
out on my 1% and 3% rebates.
Live and learn.

So when you pay BEFORE the bill goes out it looks like a "credit" and
reduces the amount on which your "rebate" is calculated.

Yeah...no kidding. Now I know.
I made payments during the billing cycle cuz I cudn't stand to see
that balance growing by leaps and bounds when I called or looked at my
acct online. I won't do THAT again.

I called. Explained it six ways to Sunday, but the rep kept saying
the rebate was figured on the amount spent. I pointed out the
prepayments, but she just didn't 'get it'.
Said she'd refer it to see if anything was 'done wrong'.
I don't think I'll get a dime.
