I need to store an old class A unit and have called a number of storage
yards. I think the cost is pretty high for such a small unit. But what
really worries me is their contracts. As with most things nowadays, you
practically sign your life away to get a basic service. Can anyone
advise me as to what possible tricks or problems I might run into with
storing a small rv at one of these places. I may have to do minor work
on the vehicle while it is there, not sure that is allowed. What should
I look for in a storage yard? With this vehicle I am not worried about
theft from third parties, but I am worried they might try to confisgate
it without good cause or similar. Also will they raise the rent or
change the terms once I am there. I might be out of the country, so
cannot come back easily.

What you need is your own lawyer who specializes in contract law.

What a daft response to someone who already figures the cost of
parking is too high!!

Not at all.
The OP stated he needs to store the unit but doesn't understand the contracts.
Since not storing it isn't an option, it's best he understands exactly what
he's signing. That could be a lot costlier.

My suggestion is to sell the unit or see if the OP can park it at a
relative or friend's house for a small fee. As far as an attorney is
concerned, the OP might be able to arrange a low cost consultation
through his local Bar Association.
